Anthony Friend & Florian Mitrea 4th Mar 2019 at The Bear Club Map
This star clarinettist brings us a programme which honours some of the greatest ever exponents of the instrument – Heinrich Baermann, Richard Mühlfeld, Benny Goodman and Gervase de Peyer. The history of these great players is the story of the clarinet itself. The Brahms and the Poulenc are both works written at the end of the composers’ lives, autumnal music infused with great lyrical beauty and the wisdom of age. Joined by exceptional young pianist Florian Mitrea this will be chamber music of the highest order.
