Beethoven Piano Trios                                     9th Mar  The Bear Club Map

Continuing our collaboration with the Sunday night concerts at London’s Conway Hall, the curator of that series, pianist Simon Callaghan, is joined by two colleagues for a celebratory programme of Beethoven piano trios. The entire canon is to be presented at Conway Hall and we are lucky to be able to present the programme that includes the great Ghost trio in D major. With charismatic string players Ben Gilmore and Ashok Klouda it is always a pleasure to welcome Simon Callaghan to Luton and this all Beethoven event will surely be a most memorable reference point in our ongoing survey of the instrumental sonatas.

‘…floating sounds that embraced the soul like shadowy dream figures, and enticed it into the magical sphere of strange presentiments.’

E T A Hoffman (on Beethoven’s Ghost trio)
