The programme includes Velocity, especially written for her last year by British composer Adam Gorb, and the jazz inflected pyrotechnics of Kapustin’s thrilling keyboard excursions. Also at a time when we are reflecting on the impact of the First World War this is an opportunity to hear Ravel’s homage to Couperin, with each movement of Le Tombeau dedicated to the memory of a friend who died in the war.
